The GDEC Program educates students in applying epidemiologic and biostatistical approaches to develop, execute, and assess disease control measures for underserved communities. Participants collaborate with faculty at international field locations, obtaining practical training in global health research and program execution. The curriculum focuses on biomedical solutions (such as medications, vaccines, or environmental adjustments). Many initiatives are cross-disciplinary, leveraging expertise from throughout the School alongside global partners. Learners gain comprehensive knowledge of methodologies, techniques, and resources required for planning, performing, and interpreting both community/clinical trials and laboratory-based studies.
