Several departments within the College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities contribute to the interdisciplinary Master of Applied Social Science (M.A.S.S.) degree program, including History, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, and Global Security and International Affairs.
This applied interdisciplinary program stands out for its adaptable structure. After completing a foundational core of three Interdisciplinary Social Science (ISS) courses (9 credit hours), students can collaborate with an advisor to tailor the remaining curriculum to their specific academic and professional goals. The M.A.S.S. degree serves both individuals planning advanced social science studies and those seeking immediate career opportunities after graduation. Full-time students typically complete the 33-credit program over two semesters and one summer session, though some may need to fulfill prerequisite requirements before beginning their coursework.
