The Master of Public Health (MPH) program equips students with comprehensive academic training, hands-on practice, and interdisciplinary learning to tackle contemporary public health issues. Starting in the 2020-2021 academic year, the MPH curriculum will feature six foundational courses completed collectively by all first-year students. Additionally, students must take specialized courses aligned with their chosen focus areas. The core curriculum emphasizes ethical considerations, equity challenges, global and community perspectives, effective communication, systems analysis, leadership development, teamwork, and the continuous cycle of translating evidence into action.

This concentration offers extensive education in environmental and occupational health while providing targeted training for practical or policy-focused careers in these fields. Required coursework covers environmental health, epidemiology, biostatistics, healthcare systems, and social/behavioral health sciences. Students must also fulfill a 120-hour public health internship and produce either a research-based thesis or a program project—an applied alternative to the traditional thesis.
