The Latin American Studies certificate is an interdisciplinary program offered through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, available to undergraduate students across all majors who want to complement their degree and improve career prospects by gaining specialized knowledge about Latin America and Spanish language proficiency.
Program Goals
Enable students to build knowledge and skills related to Latin American topics through engagement with faculty from diverse academic disciplines
Offer students transformative international experiences that foster cultural competence and global awareness
Equip students for professional opportunities or graduate studies in Latin America, including careers in diplomacy, media, nonprofit work, or academic research
Develop student fluency in Spanish, one of Latin America's primary languages
