Purdue University's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology offers both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry.

An IUPUI chemistry degree prepares you for diverse career paths, from industrial or academic research to professions like medicine and law that highly value the analytical and technical expertise gained through chemistry studies.

You'll join a collaborative learning community featuring innovative approaches like Peer-led Team Learning (PLTL), where you can enhance your leadership abilities by guiding fellow students. PLTL and similar mentoring initiatives help deepen your subject mastery while cultivating teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking skills that prove valuable across all career trajectories.

Chemistry students frequently excel when branching into other disciplines, with many choosing to double-major to craft the ideal academic foundation for their aspirations.

From their first year onward, undergraduates have opportunities to conduct research alongside distinguished faculty in laboratory settings. This hands-on experience provides individualized guidance, with faculty members offering both academic and career mentorship.

The Bachelor of Arts program blends scientific study with arts and humanities, ideal for students pursuing careers in business, environmental policy, law, healthcare, or related fields. This degree path emphasizes a well-rounded education with additional humanities and liberal arts requirements.
