Chemistry serves as a cornerstone for numerous professions across industry, research, and healthcare. A solid grasp of chemistry is essential for fields like medicine, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, secondary education, and chemical engineering. Knowledge of chemistry can also benefit careers in chemical sales, corporate leadership, business operations, and environmental stewardship. The Chemistry Department provides two ACS-accredited Bachelor of Science programs, two non-certified B.S. options, and a research-focused Master of Science degree, equipping students for industrial careers or advanced studies in chemistry and related disciplines. Additionally, a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry caters to those aiming for careers in chemical manufacturing, high school education, or professional programs like medical, dental, veterinary, or optometry schools. The Chemistry Minor allows students to complement their primary field of study with chemical knowledge. Collaborative programs with partner institutions prepare students for pharmacy and chemical engineering careers.
