Chemistry explores substances at the molecular scale: examining molecular structures, their interactions, reaction conditions, modification techniques, and how these changes influence material characteristics. Virtually every aspect of modern life involves chemistry - from pharmaceuticals to nutrition, environmental protection to coatings, durable fabrics to household surfaces. Chemical research primarily occurs in specialized labs focused on discovery, implementation, or quality assurance.

Numerous chemistry students pursue this field as foundational training for medical or pharmaceutical careers.

UC Clermont's Associate of Science (AS) in Chemistry enables students to complete a two-year degree and seamlessly transition into the junior year of UC's College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) Bachelor of Science program, assuming all admission criteria are satisfied.

This intensive AS chemistry curriculum prepares learners for professional chemistry roles, frequently serving as a stepping stone to graduate-level chemistry education.
