The Chemistry Department provides undergraduate programs culminating in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Given chemistry's foundational role across numerous disciplines, the curriculum allows considerable flexibility in elective choices, enabling students to tailor their studies to personal goals. These customized paths can include pre-medical tracks, health professions preparation, technical communication, business administration, or digital technology applications. Additional guidance on academic planning is accessible through the department chair. The BA program equips graduates for professions where chemical sciences are pivotal. Through strategic course selection, alumni may pursue diverse opportunities such as secondary science education. Students must complete general education requirements and electives that meet both university-wide and college BA standards, including obtaining a minor or second major in another field.
