The Bachelor of Art Education Program provides certification (teaching license) for art instruction across all grade levels (P–12) in Indiana. This program combines hands-on practice with a robust studio curriculum. As students progress, they enhance their artistic abilities and understanding within contemporary art education, covering areas like art history, critical analysis, philosophical exploration, studio work, and teaching techniques. Practical experience is gained through teaching school-aged children in diverse programs and settings, including student teaching placements. Students also engage with art initiatives and events throughout the city. Herron's Bachelor of Art Education (B.A.E.) equips graduates to teach art in public and private schools, museums, and community organizations.
Through Indianapolis' varied school environments and citywide art initiatives, you'll master the art of guiding students from all backgrounds in creating and interpreting art within modern society.
