As the nation's sixth oldest doctoral program in criminology and criminal justice, IUP's PhD program has produced over a hundred graduates. These alumni now teach at universities nationwide or contribute their specialized knowledge at prestigious state and federal research institutions and agencies.

Program requirements include:
Completion of 42 course credits (with potential transfer credits from MA programs)
Qualifying examinations
Specialization requirements (when applicable)
Dissertation completion
