The Environment/Energy Specialization equips students for professional opportunities in environmental sectors, energy fields, or advanced academic pursuits. Those choosing this focus gain expertise in both natural and societal factors influencing ecosystems, environmental assessment methodologies, government regulations governing energy operations, solutions for ecological challenges, and theoretical/practical applications of geospatial technologies in environmental and energy studies. This curriculum develops competencies for evaluating, overseeing, and interpreting terrestrial systems, aquatic resources, power generation assets, and ecosystems through contemporary analytical approaches. Graduates with this environmental and geospatial training will qualify for positions as ecological researchers, energy sector mapping experts/regulatory compliance officers, conservation coordinators, or environmental technology consultants.
