This combined master's program spans two years and requires 51 credit hours, offering students greater depth and breadth than a single degree program. Participants must complete at least 21 credit hours in each discipline. Both the M.S. in Chemistry and M.S.E.S. degrees are conferred simultaneously upon fulfilling all requirements for both programs.

Applicants whose native language is not English should submit proof of such proficiency by the time they apply for admission. Normally this is done by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Results of this test should be submitted as part of the application for admission.
