The M.F.A. in Scenic Design program aims to equip students for careers in professional theater, academia, or related fields. This three-year, 60-credit minimum program covers scenic design, scenic painting, props, technical courses, and dramatic literature. Throughout the program, students learn both traditional and modern visual communication techniques applicable to theater and related industries. The curriculum develops skills in script analysis, design concepts, research interpretation, drawing, painting, model construction, AutoCAD drafting, portfolio development, 3D visualization, and digital design tools. Combining rigorous coursework with hands-on design projects, the M.F.A. provides comprehensive training through instruction from industry professionals in both academic and studio environments.
