The M.A. in TESOL and Applied Linguistics provides an outstanding professional qualification for a career in teaching English to adults or teenagers. The carefully constructed curriculum includes current models of second language acquisition, the sound system and sentence structure of English, methods for teaching and assessing English, and a capstone experience of teaching English in a department-led program for the local community. You also have opportunities for electives in areas such as L2 reading and writing, L2 pragmatics, corrective feedback, L2 processing, among many others.

Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25
Applicants whose native language is not English should submit proof of such proficiency by the time they apply for admission. Normally this is done by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Results of this test should be submitted as part of the application for admission.
