Alumni from the Jacobs Organ Department are regularly acknowledged as globally distinguished performers, educators, researchers, and sacred music specialists. We foster a learning atmosphere where every student can venture into uncharted areas while deepening their unique passions under the guidance of internationally acclaimed faculty in performance, academia, instruction, and liturgical music. Our comprehensive program provides rigorous performance training—with particular focus on improvisation—alongside studies in organ repertoire, instrument craftsmanship, teaching methods, and both practical and theoretical sacred music coursework. Many students pursue complementary disciplines like carillon, harpsichord, piano, choral direction, or vocal studies, with all scholars enjoying access to outstanding mechanical-action pipe organs for practice and performance.
