Music educators ignite students' passion for music while honing their own artistic abilities. If you're enthusiastic about performing and studying music, and aspire to shape future generations of musicians and music enthusiasts, pursuing a Music Education degree can be an enriching choice. Musical instruction forms a crucial part of comprehensive learning, complementing subjects like languages, math, and history. Young learners in music programs develop enhanced linguistic skills, improved memory, better coordination, cognitive abilities, analytical thinking, disciplined study practices, and collaborative capabilities.

Our program offers two specialization tracks - choral/general education or instrumental/general education - equipping you for Indiana's K-12 teaching certification. The curriculum trains future educators in music theory, historical context, piano proficiency, musical interpretation, digital music tools, composition, and conducting techniques.
