Bachelor of Music Performance Degree with Initial Certificate in Music Education in Queens United States | Queens College, CUNY

This program is designed for students admitted to the Bachelor of Music program who also want to obtain teaching credentials. During the initial two years, participants complete the regular Bachelor of Music coursework along with the college's liberal arts requirements. Starting in their third year, they incorporate the music education curriculum and necessary certification courses. Meeting all requirements, including student teaching, generally necessitates at least one extra year of study. The fifth year is completed through the advanced certificate program after earning the Bachelor of Music degree. Participants in this track gain automatic enrollment in the advanced certificate program upon undergraduate graduation. Performance auditions and the Music Qualifying Exam are mandatory components of this program.
