The Film and Digital Media program combines practical creative training with essential studies in cinematic aesthetics, history, and theory. This cross-disciplinary offering includes diverse coursework spanning theater, film, video, and digital arts technology. Students enjoy significant freedom to select classes aligned with their professional goals, whether in critical analysis, film/video production, directing, or scriptwriting. Cinema stood as arguably the defining artistic medium of the 1900s, when moviegoing was a universal cultural experience. Today's digital landscape continues evolving - viral online content emerges, feature films get shot on smartphones, while CGI and green screens craft both intimate moments and fantastical realms. Yet the core principles of visual storytelling persist: compelling narratives, impactful acting, artistic editing, innovative sound design, and cinema's unique connection to reality. At its heart remains the filmmaker's creative perspective. Our program encourages exploration of both classic and emerging forms, deepens appreciation for global cinema, and cultivates students' artistic voices. By merging hands-on production with academic rigor, we equip students to transform their creative visions into compelling audiovisual experiences.
