The English major's Creative Writing track boasts a nationally recognized program that champions experimental and blended writing styles while prioritizing theoretical exploration and teaching methodologies. Participants examine diverse literary works while mastering how writers apply theoretical concepts and artistic principles. The program covers various subjects including prose, verse and poetic theory, narrative nonfiction, scriptwriting, long-form fiction, autobiographical writing, literary reportage, feminist literature, storytelling techniques, psychological trauma in literature, digital media applications, African diaspora studies, Black American writing, and avant-garde poetic forms.
