Students and professors at the College of Architecture have significantly impacted urban landscapes worldwide, contributing to iconic structures such as the Willis Tower by Bruce Graham and Fazlur Khan, the John Hancock Building, Jeanne Gang's Aqua Tower, among others.
Our Master of Science program continues this legacy of groundbreaking design through a post-professional degree focused on self-directed study. Under faculty guidance, each scholar pursues an investigative project centered on Architectural and Urban Technologies. This focus area allows exploration through technical studies, practical applications (including design work), or historical and theoretical examinations.
Study subjects align with faculty specializations and are determined when entering specific degree tracks. Participants benefit from interdisciplinary resources across Illinois Tech, partnerships with Chicago-based architecture and engineering practices, and the city's extensive archival collections.
