The private sector has adopted data and analytics to boost productivity and enhance profitability. Public sector and non-governmental organizations are now following suit. The Master of Urban Spatial Analytics is a 12-month graduate curriculum that equips students with spatial analysis and data science skills to tackle today's most critical urban policy and planning challenges. We're training tomorrow's civic technology leaders. This intensive MUSA program blends instruction in GIS, spatial analytics, data science, statistical methods, R and Python coding, data visualization, and interactive mapping with top-tier urban studies courses from the University of Pennsylvania. The initiative is co-managed by Penn's Stuart Weitzman School of Design and the Penn Institute for Urban Research.
Applicants must have completion of bachelor’s degree.
A strong command of the English language is necessary for successful study at Penn. Applicants whose families do not speak English at home, or applicants who have not attended a high school or secondary school where the primary language of instruction is English, are asked to take the TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, administered by the Educational Testing Service. In the event the TOEFL is not readily accessible, Penn will accept results from the IELTS, the International English Language Testing System.
