Designed for students lacking formal coursework or teaching background in secondary or special education at the adolescent level. This 49-credit hour dual graduate pre-service program prepares candidates for New York State's initial/professional certification to teach grades 7-12 in subjects like social studies, math, sciences, English, or foreign languages, along with a Students with Disabilities 7-12 generalist certification with content area extensions. The curriculum combines campus-based instruction with diverse school-based fieldwork, concluding with a full-time student teaching placement. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on integrating literacy, multicultural education, and technology, with particular attention to addressing special learning requirements. The MS in Education in Inclusive Secondary Special Education aligns with New York State's Learning Standards for secondary education certification areas.
