Protein synthesis and isolation. Cellular and tissue cultivation methods. Biochemical testing using enzymes and antibodies. Experimental planning and lab safety protocols. Digital processing of genetic and protein data (computational biology). For those passionate about science and eager to be at the forefront of innovative sectors, HCC's biotechnology lab technology curriculum equips students for fulfilling practical careers in biotech research, cellular studies, or production. This two-year course delivers essential theoretical knowledge and technical abilities for operating in advanced laboratory settings. Students can tailor their studies toward either engineering production or biological sciences. Following academic training, participants may engage in professional internships with regional biotech firms. To be eligible for admission to an associate degree program at HCC, applicants must have the equivalent of one of the following: high school equivalency certificate (GED), Associate or higher degree, standard high school diploma.
