HPU's Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology Engineering program focuses on creating, designing, and implementing cutting-edge technologies, sustainable products, and eco-friendly systems through optimal resource utilization. Students can specialize in bioenvironmental engineering or bioprocess engineering. Bioenvironmental engineering applies engineering concepts to natural ecosystems to preserve and restore environmental quality, tackling issues like soil health, waste management, air purification, biofuel production, and groundwater systems. Bioprocess engineering involves developing sustainable systems for industrial processes, with applications in food production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, herbal product development, and biological resource management such as stem cell technologies. Additional areas of study include workplace safety protocols, crisis management solutions, and biological material handling systems. This four-year degree prepares graduates for careers across biotechnology sectors including agriculture, environmental services, medical fields, food production, and drug development industries.

Students who have taken Advanced Placement Examinations (AP) of the College Board or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program will be accepted with above average scores (AP grades higher than 3 and IB scores higher than 4) and should have the results forwarded to the Office of International Admissions. These results will be evaluated not only for admission but also for proper advanced standing and/or credit from HPU.
