The Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) and Harvard's Graduate School of Design (GSD) provide a combined degree option in public policy and urban planning. This dual-degree initiative allows candidates to earn both a Master in Public Policy (MPP) from HKS and a Master in Urban Planning (MUP) from GSD within three years, saving one year compared to pursuing the degrees separately. Participants must fulfill all core requirements for both the MPP and MUP programs. The program is supervised by a faculty committee consisting of HKS/GSD Professor Jose A. Gomez-Ibanez and GSD Professor Jerold S. Kayden, who determine program guidelines, structure, and provide student guidance.
