AFVS encompasses three distinct focus areas: 1) studio arts, 2) film/video production, and 3) film and visual studies, each with slightly varying requirements. Studio arts and film/video concentrators develop expertise in their chosen creative discipline while experimenting with diverse artistic methods. Film and visual studies students examine image theory, art history, and media through interdisciplinary lenses. Across all concentrations, AFVS students collaborate closely with faculty, primarily in studio settings and intimate seminars, combining academic learning with hands-on experience.
