Many students discover History and Science for the first time when they come to Harvard, yet those who select this concentration often become some of the most fulfilled and versatile graduates. As the sole program awarding credit for interdisciplinary courses spanning sciences, social sciences, and humanities, we provide exceptional opportunities like museum internships, Rosenkrantz Discovery Grants for international research, and the chance to contribute to America's premier undergraduate history of science journal. Our curriculum covers diverse subjects across eras: from Darwin's breakthroughs to biotech advancements, climate science to Latin American medical history, quantum physics to digital age studies, plus explorations of medical equity, neuroscience, space exploration, and beyond. Students tailor their path through three approaches: the Science and Society track blends STEM with historical perspectives; the History of Science track emphasizes historical coursework; or specialized focuses in Mind/Brain/Behavior, Medicine/Society (both requiring theses), or Technology/Information/Society.
