The MIS Concentration prepares students with the expertise, methods, and competencies needed to thrive in diverse IT roles. This encompasses not just technical careers like programming or software development, but also positions requiring innovation and analytical thinking, including business analysis, systems design, project execution, and information systems specialization across various sectors. The program structure rests on core information systems fundamentals, with elective courses enhancing core topics and expanding students' knowledge. Emerging technologies are incorporated through specialized modules. To excel professionally, MIS students must develop technical proficiency alongside business acumen, strong interpersonal abilities, effective communication, and analytical problem-solving skills. Like all business majors, MIS students complete foundational business courses across disciplines along with University Core requirements. These business fundamentals and core curriculum aim to cultivate Gonzaga MIS graduates as versatile, well-prepared professionals.
