The interdisciplinary Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) provides an accelerated 4+1 program enabling students to earn both their Bachelor's degree from multiple disciplines and the MSDS within five years of full-time study. Undergraduate options span departments including Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy in Arts and Sciences, along with Computer and Information Sciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering in Engineering. Students must fulfill all requirements for both degrees, with the option to count up to six credits of graduate coursework from their undergraduate major toward both programs.
Information Systems represents a dynamic field that connects business with computer technology.
Computer networks amplify human cognition by enabling sophisticated yet user-friendly communication and data management systems. These systems must effectively support organizational operations across business, government, and service sectors, demanding expertise in both human interaction dynamics and technical capabilities of computing infrastructure.
The Computer and Information Sciences Department provides a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (INSY-BS) that merges business principles with IT education. This program responds to growing interest in developing business-oriented software solutions, requiring completion of specialized major courses alongside 1) a business foundation curriculum and 2) an information systems core.
The business foundation focuses on leadership and market strategies, equipping students for management careers through coursework in accounting, finance, operations, organizational behavior, and marketing.
