This certificate program welcomes students from all academic backgrounds, including those who have already earned a degree. The Geographic Information Systems Certificate provides an immersive, cross-disciplinary curriculum focused on GIS technology. Participants complete four mandatory courses and select three electives from available options. The program covers fundamental computer mapping and spatial analysis techniques before allowing students to specialize in their chosen application field (such as wildlife biology, wetlands management, programming, or cartographic design). A hands-on internship or equivalent practical GIS project experience is an essential requirement for earning the certificate.
