This program is designed for students aiming to utilize computer technologies to address the information requirements of people and businesses. Grounded in core principles, the curriculum equips students with essential skills and knowledge to confidently step into this dynamic industry. Alongside a robust scientific foundation, students cultivate advanced programming abilities, analytical problem-solving techniques, and conceptual reasoning. The IT program prepares graduates with practical expertise they'll apply to career roles immediately after completing their studies and, ultimately, to leadership positions within the sector.
Students gain hands-on experience at the UNH InterOperability Lab, testing networking hardware from leading tech firms while acquiring valuable professional training. Research opportunities abound through capstone initiatives and independent study projects. Numerous UNH student groups align perfectly with IT majors, including the Cyber Security Club, Linux Club, and Wildcat Women in Computer Science. Additionally, the Programming Assistance Center provides readily available tutoring and support services.
