The Religious Studies Department guides students in examining and analyzing their evolving spiritual beliefs by exploring sacred texts, Christian heritage, and contemporary religious influences. As a key component of the University Core Curriculum, our religion courses embody Gonzaga's foundational principles. The religious studies requirement combines examinations of Christian and Catholic teachings with global religious perspectives. This academic foundation prepares students for diverse professions including legal fields, counseling, teaching, corporate environments, medical sectors, media, pastoral work, and institutional leadership. Alumni have continued their education in advanced programs or served with organizations like Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Peace Corps, and various community service initiatives.
