The UWM Religious Studies Program organizes various events including lectures, conferences, symposia, and regular social gatherings for both faculty and students during the academic year to cultivate an intellectual community. This program caters to three distinct groups of students:
Individuals pursuing higher education in religious studies or related fields (such as history of religions, religion and literature, religion and psychology, ethics, or philosophy)
Students needing religion-related courses to meet distribution requirements
Those who wish to include the scholarly examination of religion as a valuable part of their liberal arts curriculum.

Qualification Requirements
All applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways:
An approved test score that meets the requirement for regular or conditional admission.
University study: Completion of at least 18 months of full-time, for-credit academic study (approximately three semesters) at a recognized or accredited institution of higher education whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM.
Secondary/high school study: Proof of completion of the last two years of secondary/high school at an institution whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM. TOEFL IBT - 79 or higher, TOEFL PBT - 548 or higher, IELTS - 6.5
