Studying Religion and Contemporary Issues helps students advance their professional aspirations by developing a comprehension of religious influences, acknowledging religion's diverse effects on society and personal experiences, and acquiring skills to bridge differing perspectives, manage disagreements, and foster inclusivity. This program is ideal for students curious about religion's role in modern society, particularly those aiming for careers in:
Healthcare
Legal fields, Government Policy, Civic Engagement,
Journalism, Public Relations, and Creative Industries.
Students select one of these three tracks as their specialization. They complement their major with nine semester hours from another discipline, facilitating double majors while integrating religious understanding into career preparation. Coursework includes religion classes tailored to their chosen track (Healthcare, Legal, or Media) to examine faith's impact on professional paths. The remaining religion credits can be chosen from any religion or Jewish studies offerings.
