Public and private sector employers actively seek professionals with expertise in aquatic systems. The Water Sciences concentration within the M.S. program equips students with comprehensive understanding of water quality and availability, along with contemporary methods for evaluating, simulating, and addressing aquatic environmental challenges. Participants can opt for either a thesis or capstone track.
What sets the Department of Geosciences apart is its interdisciplinary approach, bridging social and physical aspects of environmental and resource challenges, particularly in urban settings. Our faculty specialize in water-related social and environmental factors, environmental geochemistry, and climate change impacts. We're also enhancing our Geographic Information Science programs to more effectively address the intricate relationship between societal and ecological issues. Collaborating with students and community stakeholders, we address pressing 21st-century concerns regarding the preservation, management, and responsible utilization of our planet's natural resources.
