Hydrology examines how water is stored and moves through Earth's systems, investigating how water flow affects energy distribution, chemical transport, and sediment movement. Our hydrological research focuses on both surface water systems and underground water in Earth's crust. We're particularly interested in climate change's ongoing effects on groundwater distribution and moisture in snowpacks and soils across various timeframes and geographic regions. Our work bridges hydrology with other disciplines, studying phenomena like cryosphere transformations altering water cycles, crustal fluids affecting energy transfer and mineral formation, and water-rock interactions that influence seismic activity. Our approach integrates field measurements, computer modeling, and satellite observations.
