The Master of Science (M.S.) program with a Geology specialization provides diverse coursework to equip students for research and professional paths. Both thesis and capstone track options are available. Research focuses span multiple disciplines including: geochemistry (covering analytical, aqueous, environmental, igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary aspects), mineralogy, hydrogeology, petrology, sedimentology, structural geology, and geoinformatics.
What makes the Department of Geosciences unique is its interdisciplinary approach to environmental and resource challenges, particularly in urban settings. Faculty members specialize in both social and environmental aspects of water systems, environmental geochemistry, and climate change impacts. We're also enhancing our Geographic Information Science programs to more effectively address the intricate relationships between societal and environmental issues.
