Our Rhetoric & Composition program stands as the most extensive in the Southeast, featuring eight dedicated faculty experts in rhetoric, composition, digital media, communication, writing center methodologies, and language studies.

Through our unique curriculum, students can blend interests across historical eras, contemporary composition research, rhetorical frameworks, visual and digital rhetoric, emerging media, advanced academic writing, linguistic studies, writing center research, writing program management, and professional writing. Georgia's universities cannot match the breadth of our graduate offerings in rhetoric and composition. We facilitate graduate internships with departmental publications, nonprofit organizations, and Atlanta-area institutions, while also delivering mentorship and instruction in writing pedagogy and program administration.

The Writing Studio functions as both an on-campus tutoring hub for Georgia State students across all disciplines and a vibrant research space for graduate scholars exploring writing center methodologies. Our graduate assistants have delivered conference presentations, published scholarly works, and earned prestigious International Writing Center Association Research Grants.
