The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures provides a Master of Arts (M.A.) program in Spanish. Graduate students can learn from specialists in pedagogy, linguistics, cultural studies, and literature. Our graduates have pursued fulfilling careers in education, business, social services, healthcare, and academic fields. The program allows students to focus on either Theoretical and Applied Linguistics or Literary and Cultural Studies. Along with coursework, participants complete either a thesis or comprehensive examinations.

Qualification Requirements

Must have earned a four-year bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college or university that is accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting association, or do so within one academic year
present official transcripts from each college or university other than Illinois State at which graduate, undergraduate, or non-degree credit was earned.
You must have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate work.
