The Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs (B.A., B.F.A., M.F.A.) across nine artistic fields: Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, Printmaking, Textiles, and Sculpture. While graduate applicants choose a specialization upon entry, undergraduates declare their focus during their second year through a portfolio submission process. Although students complete their degrees with a specific concentration, the school actively promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between different artistic fields. All students enjoy full access to courses and studio facilities, enabling them to fully realize their creative visions regardless of medium. Our faculty members, many of whom work across multiple disciplines, provide guidance not only in established programs but also in emerging areas like video production, animation, performance art, sound design, and wearable art.
