The History Department provides a pre-education pathway for aspiring middle and high school teachers. Students can explore diverse courses covering U.S., European, and global history, gaining essential analytical abilities, writing proficiency, worldwide viewpoints, and historical knowledge for public school instruction. Combined with a History B.A., this track readies students for temporary certification exams or enrollment in Georgia State's College of Education and Human Development M.A.T. Program in Social Studies Education (or equivalent programs elsewhere) to fulfill state certification requirements.
