This combined Georgia Tech Master of City & Regional Planning and Georgia State University Juris Doctor program expands the academic perspectives of both institutions by enabling cross-disciplinary learning. The curriculum caters to students aiming to specialize in both legal studies and urban development.
The Planning Law dual degree serves students pursuing expertise in legal frameworks and urban planning, creates opportunities to examine intersections between these fields through collaborative research and teaching, and offers an educational pathway that acknowledges the growing interdependence of land use law and regional development. This initiative enhances professional training for future land use specialists by delivering comprehensive knowledge in both domains.
Through this J.D./MCRP partnership, students can apply credits from one program toward elective requirements in the other, allowing them to complete both degrees more efficiently than pursuing them independently.
Applicants for Georgia Tech's graduate programs should hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
The minimum score for graduate admission required by Georgia Tech is: IELTS: ‚â• 7.5 (minimum band score for Reading, Listening, and Speaking is 6.5; minimum band score for Writing is 5.5)
