Pair one of America's premier law schools with an exceptional urban setting, and you get the University of Minnesota Law School. Our LL.M. programs offer international lawyers a challenging curriculum that builds comprehensive legal expertise. Choose between our specialized Business Law LL.M. or our flexible general LL.M. with 11 concentration options. Every LL.M. candidate works with the Director of International Programs to create a personalized course plan tailored to their professional goals. You can specialize in a particular legal field or study the broader U.S. common law system. Most classes are shared with J.D. candidates. The program requires completion of 24 credits across the academic year without a thesis, though students must complete one seminar involving significant legal writing. The academic journey starts in August and culminates with May graduation ceremonies.
