The School of Physics provides two bachelor's degree options: a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics. The applied physics track may be more advantageous for students aiming to enter industry or government positions after graduation, pursue professional programs (like medicine, law, dentistry, or business), or prepare for graduate studies in other fields. Unlike the traditional physics program, the applied physics curriculum substitutes some graduate preparation courses with classes focused on practical physics applications. Both degree programs include: a) general education requirements, b) a core curriculum covering advanced mathematics and fundamental physical principles (mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum theory), c) specialized electives for deeper exploration of chosen subjects, d) undergraduate research opportunities, and e) approximately 15% of total credits dedicated to free electives, which can be used for additional technical or non-technical coursework.
Applicants must have International Baccalaureate Diploma.
