Georgetown's program equips future leaders with the skills to become ethical professionals capable of navigating urban development challenges. Our approach recognizes cities as vital hubs for addressing social, environmental, and economic issues while fostering human potential. Rooted in Georgetown University's commitment to academic rigor and equity, our flexible program adapts to each student's needs rather than following a rigid cohort model. Students tailor their studies to match their career objectives and personal ambitions.
Participants progress through the program at their preferred speed, choosing from intensive full-time (15 months), standard full-time (two years), or part-time options that accommodate work or internship opportunities. A faculty-evaluated master's thesis serves as the program's capstone requirement. The curriculum adheres to the Planning Accreditation Board's graduate-level urban planning standards for North America.
