The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program at the Trachtenberg School equips students to analyze complex data while examining the foundational theories that influence public policy across governments and global systems.
Beyond required courses, both MPP and MPA candidates select a specialized concentration aligned with their professional goals, choosing from established options or crafting a customized path with faculty guidance. Every TSPPPA graduate student undertakes a culminating capstone project for their preferred client organization.
Government regulation has become a pivotal policy instrument at the federal level. This concentration investigates regulatory frameworks, practices, and interdisciplinary perspectives drawing from economics, political science, legal studies, business, and various policy domains. Curriculum examines regulatory development processes and provides analytical methodologies for evaluating potential policy impacts. Students also study the stakeholders involved in regulatory processes - including legislative bodies, agencies, executive offices, local governments, corporations, and advocacy groups. This specialization is ideal for those pursuing careers in regulatory analysis or policy development within government, private sector, or nonprofit environments. With advisor approval, students may incorporate additional relevant coursework from related disciplines.
