The GW Master of Arts in Sociology program emphasizes the study of social stratification and inequality while strengthening students' grasp of sociological theories and research techniques. Participants cultivate specialized knowledge in their selected primary and secondary focus areas, with elective choices such as Race and Urban Development, Demographic Principles, and Intersections of Race, Gender, and Class. To be eligible for admission, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants who have earned their degrees outside of the US must hold degrees from institutions in compliance with their national standards.
