The Master of Arts in Arts Management program addresses the increasing need for professionals who can effectively administer arts programs, connecting creative disciplines with practical leadership abilities. The Washington, D.C. area boasts one of the country's most significant clusters of cultural institutions. The call for arts administrators proficient in financial oversight, strategic planning, business development, and communications—including promotional strategies—has reached unprecedented levels. Additionally, the requirement for professionals skilled in donor cultivation, fundraising, and maintaining partnerships across both nonprofit and government-supported arts entities is expanding rapidly.
This graduate program offers foundational training in arts administration essentials. Participants complete 24 required credits followed by 9 credits of chosen electives. The curriculum includes a hands-on internship component, allowing direct collaboration with industry experts. Internship placements span over 60 visual and performing arts institutions throughout Washington, D.C., as well as global opportunities.
