Students pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) gain access to diverse learning experiences designed to build comprehensive knowledge and skills aligned with systems and strengths-based approaches. The curriculum emphasizes applying fundamental social work principles while navigating ethical challenges. Through both academic coursework and hands-on fieldwork, students develop proficiency in modern technologies and culturally aware, generalist social work methods.
This program maintains full accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education. Participants must adhere to the ethical standards set by the National Association of Social Workers. A key requirement involves completing 450 hours of supervised field placements at department-approved agencies. BSW candidates can additionally participate in the Social Work integrative Research Lab (SWiRL), where they collaborate on research initiatives and receive guidance from graduate students and professors.
