Highly-qualified Mason undergraduates may be admitted to the bachelor's/accelerated master's program and obtain a BA/BS in a chosen major and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) with a concentration in social justice and human rights in an accelerated time-frame after satisfactory completion of a minimum of 144 credits. The Social Justice and Human Rights (SJHR) concentration in the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program is flexibly designed to allow you to focus your studies around the issues to which you are most committed. This program provides a deep theoretical foundation for understanding the social, political, cultural, historical, and economic implications of an array of social injustices and human rights issues. It emphasizes a global and intersectional approach while engaging students in imagining and applying strategies for creating and sustaining a more equitable, just, and humane world.
